Chitty fund Plan is a financial product of KSFE (Kerala State Financial Enterprises Limited). It has benefits of investment and advance. KSFE conducts only chitties fully governed by the provisions of Central Chit Fund Act 1982. The emi for chitties range from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 5,00,000 and the duration of chitties are 30, 40, 50, 60 & 100 months usually.
Chitty amount is a total of periodic subscription, will be given out as prize money to the person who bids by allowing for the maximum reduction in the prize money. The maximum reduction as per chitty act is 25% and if there are more than one subscriber interested in bidding at 25% reduction, the numbers of the such bidders will be put to a draw.

The motive of the fund is, contribution is for development of the state Kerala. The Gulf region has played important role in state’s economy. Rs. 10,000 crores, for many activities for the next 5 years of the state are expected to be raised through NRI chitties. It is basically is for Keralites working or settled abroad. RBI has approved demand for a NRI Chitty.
KSFE offers pension scheme and insurance coverage. If something misshapen with the person, then the insurance will take care of remaining payment. It provide facility to link the chitty with pension fund.
The loan facility of is available to up to date non-prized chitty subscribers, only for those subscriber that has made no default in the remittance of installment. Only passbook is required to avail this KSFE Loan facility. Interest rate for simple accounts – 12.50% and for defaulted accounts -14.50%.

About Chitty – The word ‘Chit,’ suggests the origin of Chit Funds. ‘Chit’ means a written note on a small piece of paper. Prize-winner will be declare on the basis of draw like each subscriber’s name written on a piece of paper and folded several time, mixed all the chits and on chit will be picked from the vessel. The name mentioned on the chit, will be the winner. Each and every subscriber gets an opportunity to receive the prize money once during the tenure of the chitty.
